Maryland jobs decline for third straight month in July

Maryland’s economy continues to lag behind the rest of the U.S. after the state lost jobs for the third consecutive month and unemployment held steady.

Jobs at Maryland employers declined by 4,100 in July, driven by a loss of 5,000 positions in the public sector, according to figures released Friday by the U.S. Department of Labor.

The losses came during a month in which the U.S. economy added 164,000 jobs and saw the labor force rise to its highest level ever.

Morgan State to partner with MEDCO on campus housing project
